Mr. Tom Zawistowski: Executive Director, Portage County TEA Party; former President of the Liberty Coalition; and candidate for the Ohio Republican Party Chairmanship

I received an email today from a true patriot and conservative Mr. Tom Zawistowski, Executive Director, Portage County TEA Party; former President of the Liberty Coalition; and candidate for the Ohio Republican Party Chairmanship.

In my opinion, the Republican Party, is digging a hole so deep that we may not escape. I for one would prefer that the RNC get its head out of the sand, like an ostrich and stand tall and proud of our principles and beliefs. I would like to see every Republican, including those in Congress to take a close look into our party and start acting in the way our founders envisioned in the Constitution.

Here is the email for your review:

Jack,

A letter from Tom Zawistowski, candidate for the Ohio Republican Party Chairmanship.  Tom lost his bid on Friday.  The following is his reaction. Thanks to everyone who supported him.  There is more work to do.  Keep your eyes open for Project Gavel meetings in the future, learning how we can get more involved in the party process.

Yesterday, we enlightened those members of the State Central Committee and the Republican Party who heard our words. We enlightened the press and members of our own movement as well through this process.
Many of you were not clear on why the effort to run for Chairman was important to our movement and worth the effort. During the campaign I had no time to explain it all to you, so let me do that now.  It was worth the effort to run for Chairman just to have that opportunity to explain who we are and why we are so displeased with the Republican Party because it will make a difference. It gave you the opportunity and reason to show the state central committee members, many of whom have had little to no engagement with our members, who we are and what we believe in.  Most of all, many in the republican party did not understand our concerns and now they have a much clearer understanding.  It was worth it to run for Chairman because it gave us a louder voice in the media and with Republican Legislators to help stop implementation of Medicaid Expansion, bring attention to the Navigators Bill and on House Bill 91 both of which you will hear more about by Monday. It helped our movement because it allowed me the opportunity to clearly explain to the Governor and the House Speaker and the Senate Leader exactly what they need to do to gain our future support and exactly what we will do to not support them if they continue their current policies.

Running for Chairman helped us identify who really is on our side and who really is not on our side and I will have more to say on that as well in a future email. It was worth it to run for Chairman to raise the profile of our movement and to show the media and republican supporters that we have the energy and the ideas and the burning desire to defend our values and to show that the Republican Party is not a Party at all, it is simply a perpetual campaign that is void of values and principles.  My point is proven by the fact that yesterday, the ORP was supposed to vote to affirm the nation Republican Party platform and the did not vote on it, because it would be “to controversial” to vote on their own National Party Platform. That is how empty the ORP is and why they can not be the force of change that our nation needs to stop the insidious assault on our values and core beliefs by the “regressive” left. We must be that force. Running for Chairman helped us better understand our political environment and how best to move forward toward our goals and we will be meeting soon to discuss those options.

It was worth the effort, despite the disappointing results, I assure you. I wish we had won. It would have been better for all of us, simply because it would have sped up the process and allowed us to bring our forces finally to bear on our true enemies. None the less, we had nothing to lose and much to gain and I am proud of the effort we made and the results we achieved.

Immigration: A Common Sense Proposal

Senate's Gang of Eight
Senate’s Gang of Eight

When we think about Immigration, we should be thinking not only about the entry by foreign nationals that we want in the United States, but also a means of determining where every visa holder is located. The first thing that I believe is that our borders should be so tight that a determined group of U.S. Navy Seals could not penetrate. When I say borders, I include our coastlines. I believe that if a smuggling vessel could breach our coastline, then an enemy vessel could do the same. I also believe that the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution should be amended to reflect that any child born in the United States by a person, not a US citizen, is not an immediate citizen, possibly upon 18th birthday, or not at all. Any other matters should be delayed until the foregoing issues have been met. This however is not the case in Washington, D.C. Continue reading

Gun Owners: We Know Who You Are

Gun Owners: We Know Who You Are is going to be the new rallying cry by the government. A gun check program by the government will lead to a gun registry. The RINO, Senator Toomey R-PA, bill has a requirement that the Attorney General NOT keep a gun registry; however, it does not prohibit other agencies, I.e. ATF, Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms from doing so.

Gun Owners: We Know Who You Are is a prelude to gun confiscation, a true violation of the 2nd Amendment. We have a right that can not be taken away by government. This is what the Declaration of Independence states.  The United Nations already is trying to pass an international gun registry.  The U.S. gun registry will provide information necessary for the U.N. to confiscate our guns. Over my dead body.

Gun Owners: We Know Who You Are may be the battle cry in the government; however, we have our battle cry, “Politicians: We Know How You Voted.” Everyone should contact your U.S. Senators and Representatives now and tell them to vote against gun bills.

Amy Murray for Cincinnati City Council

67566_10151644218325774_2060932141_nAmy Murray for Cincinnati City Council. I met Amy Murray and I was astounded by her sincere desire to help the citizens and her knowledge of what is being done by Cincinnati City Council. The streetcar and the selling or leasing of our assets are disastrous for Cincinnati voters as well as the thousands of citizens living in the suburbs. I will be covering these points of interests in future blobs. I will also be covering her cohort and friend Councilman Chris Smitherman in future blogs.

The following email I received from Amy Murray on March 16, 2013 that shows her dedication to the citizens of the City of Cincinnati.

Dear Friend,

I’d like to keep you updated on the status of the parking referendum effort in the City of Cincinnati.

A couple weeks ago, Cincinnati’s City Council approved legislation that would lease out our city’s parking meters through a partnership with private companies. This would increase parking meter rates, times, and locations in the city–and use those funds not for a long-term budget fix but for projects downtown that are paid for largely at the expense of surrounding neighborhoods. Council then pushed the measure through with an emergency clause, which they hoped would prevent any recourse from Citizens.

I’m all for public-private partnerships and attracting folks to our great city as I mentioned on Bill Cunningham’s show this past week, but this should be done in a responsible way that addresses the root cause of our city’s spending problem. Cincinnati has an issue that’s worth fixing: we consistently spend more money than we take in and have a structurally imbalanced budget. I’m running for City Council to change this.

Many of you probably know that the Citizens of Cincinnati are leading an effort to ensure that the people’s voice is heard on this issue. Our goal is to put it on the November ballot. To do so, we aim to collect the required petition signatures as soon as we possibly can…and we need your support!

Wanna help? Here’s where you can pick up petitions in the city:

*1703 Dale Rd. (please turn in completed petitions here as well)

-or-

*4131 Glenway Ave.

If you know of other locations and want to share them with volunteers, please reply to this email and we will post them on our website (www.electamymurray.com). You can also tweet @Amy_Murray (and be sure to use the hashtag #cincyparking), email cincinnatiparkingpetitions@gmail.com or call the Murray campaign headquarters at 513-400-4249.

If you’d like to remain on our list to receive emails about this and other city issues, please email me.

I am so appreciative of the Citizens of Cincinnati for their incredible passion and leadership on this issue.

Amy Murray

Editor’s Note: The petitions were turned in by Amy Murray and Councilman Chris Smitherman.

Happy Easter!

Well, today is Easter, a celebration of Jesus Christ’s rising from death. For those that don’t believe, Christ loves you and is most willing to take you back in good graces; that is reason for Jesus’ death in the first place.

Happy Easter!

The Salmon Rule: All Republicans That Want Re-Elected Should Heed. Rep. Salmon (R-AZ) is the type of politician I like. He believes in the Constitution, a document that almost every Representative has not studied. He believes in smaller government and less spending. I would like to see all departments that are not delineated in the Constitution should be dissolved and returned to state control. The federal taxes would be greatly diminished. He is a Conservative and not well liked on the left, See this:
